BEYOND FEAR: HOW TO GET READY FOR A MIRACLE

“The Gospel shows us how God makes people right with himself—that it begins and ends with FAITH. The Scripture says those who are right with God will live by trusting in Him.” Romans 1:17

“Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)

“What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen and to be certain of things we do not yet see.” Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)

“I pray that the eyes of your heart will be flooded with light so that you can see the wonderful future God has promised to those he called...” Ephesians 1:18

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE SEE WITH EYES OF FEAR?

(Numbers 13-14 - Spying out the Promised Land)

1. WE EXAGGERATE [text]

“It’s a magnificent land BUT the people living there are powerful, and their cities are fortified and large! What’s more, we saw Anakim giants there!” Numbers 13:27b-28

“...other spies said, “They’d crush us!” So the majority report of the spies was negative.” Numbers 13:31-32

HOW FAITH IN JESUS TURNS A LITTLE INTO A LOT

Mark 6:34-44 – The Miracle of Feeding the 5,000

1. ADMIT I HAVE [text]

“When Jesus . . . saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them . . . so he began teaching them. By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came and said, ‘This is a remote place. Send the people away so they can go and buy something to eat.' But Jesus answered, ‘You give them something to eat!' They said, ‘That would take eight months of a man's wages!'” Mark 6:34-37a (NIV)

When we lack faith we [text].

God always knows the answer before you even know what the problem is.

One of Jesus’ disciples, Andrew, who was Simon Peter’s brother, told him, “A boy who has five loaves of barley bread and two small fish is here. But they won’t go very far for so many people.” John 6:8-9

BEYOND IMAGINATION: DISCOVERING GOD’S DREAM FOR MY LIFE

MY IMAGINATION, DREAMS & FAITH

1. DECIDE TO DISCOVER [text] FOR MY LIFE.

“I ask that your minds may be opened to see his light, so that you will know what is the hope to which he has called you, how rich are the wonderful blessings he promises his people.” Ephesians 1:18 (GNT)

• God’s dream for my life is always [text].

“God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by his Spirit working deeply and gently within us.” Ephesians 3:20 (Mes)

BEYOND MEASURE: DARE TO GIVE GOD MY VERY BEST

[text]: The man who missed Christmas!

Matthew 2:1-18

We all have a little [text] inside of us - don't be a [text]!

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:19‬ ‭MSG‬‬‬‬‬‬ “Don’t hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or—worse!—stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it’s safe from moth and rust and burglars. It’s obvious, isn’t it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being."

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭MSG‬‬‬‬‬‬ "Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met."

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬ “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

GOD'S PRINCIPLES FOR GIVING MY BEST (The Laws of Sowing & Reaping)

1. EVERYTHING I HAVE IS A [text] AND NOTHING HAPPENS UNLESS IT'S [text].

John12:24 Jesus said, “Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, it cannot reproduce. But if it dies, it will produce much fruit.”

Mark 4:26-27 (NCV) Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is like someone who plants seed in the ground. Night and day, whether the person is asleep or awake, the seed still grows, but the person does not know how it grows. “

2 Corinthians 9:10 “For God, who supplies seed to the farmer and bread to eat, will give you more and more seed to plant and will make it grow so that you can give away more and more fruit from your harvest!”

BEYOND EXCUSE: Obeying God Even When It Doesn't Make Sense

“This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.” Matthew 1:18-19 (NIV)

EXCUSE: I CAN’T. IT’S IMPOSSIBLE.

“After he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins’ . . . When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. BEYOND ME: Worshipping Jesus With All That I Have

“Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.”

King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem. He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, “Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?” “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they said, “for this is what the prophet wrote: ‘And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.’ ” Then Herod called for a private meeting with the wise men, and he learned from them the time when the star first appeared. Then he told them, “Go to Bethlehem and search carefully for the child. And when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and worship him, too!”

After this interview the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Luke‬ ‭2:1-5, 7-20 “In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.‬

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.

He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.

She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
