A 6 week focus on [text], [text] and [text] in FAITH.
Mark 6:34-44 – The Miracle of Feeding the 5,000
1. ADMIT I HAVE [text]
“When Jesus . . . saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them . . . so he began teaching them. By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came and said, ‘This is a remote place. Send the people away so they can go and buy something to eat.' But Jesus answered, ‘You give them something to eat!' They said, ‘That would take eight months of a man's wages!'” Mark 6:34-37a (NIV)
When we lack faith we [text].
Principle: God stretches my faith by asking me to do the [text].
[area]
2. GIVE GOD [text]
“‘How many loaves do you have?' Jesus asked. ‘Go and see.' When they found out, they said, ‘Five small loaves of bread and two fish.'" Mark 6:38 (NIV)
Principle: God always starts with [text].
“Jesus asked this only to test them, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.” John 6:6 (NIV)
God always knows the answer before you even know what the problem is.
[area]
3. PUT IT ALL [text]
“Jesus took the five loaves and the two fish . . . He blessed the food and broke the loaves and He kept giving them to the disciples to set before the people . . .” Mark 6:41 (NASB)
One of Jesus’ disciples, Andrew, who was Simon Peter’s brother, told him, “A boy who has five loaves of barley bread and two small fish is here. But they won’t go very far for so many people.” John 6:8-9
The boy gave what he had . . . [text].
Principle: God will use [text] I give Him.
[area]
4. EXPECT GOD TO [text].
“Everyone ate and had enough. Afterwards they collected 12 baskets full of . . . leftovers!” Mark 6:42-43 (Ph)
“All things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27 (NIV)
Principle: Whatever I give, I always get back [text].
Jesus: “A kernel of wheat must be given away and planted in the soil. Unless it dies and is buried, it will remain a single seed. But its death will produce many more seeds and a great harvest!” John 12:24
[area]
Luke 1:1-38 (NIV)
MY IMAGINATION, DREAMS & FAITH
There are things we [text] imagine, things we [text] imagine, and things we [text] imagine.
Your imagination [text].
“Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.” Proverbs 4:23 (GNT)
Imagining is essential to [text].
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)
1. DECIDE TO DISCOVER [text] FOR MY LIFE.
• Great lives are built around [text].
“I ask that your minds may be opened to see his light, so that you will know what is the hope to which he has called you, how rich are the wonderful blessings he promises his people.” Ephesians 1:18 (GNT)
• God’s dream for my life is always [text].
“God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by his Spirit working deeply and gently within us.” Ephesians 3:20 (Mes)
Let the size of my [text], determine the size of my [text]
[area]
2. RECOGNIZE [text] OF IMAGINATION.
“If you need wisdom, just ask God for it, because He is generous and enjoys giving to everyone. But when you ask God, you must believe in faith and not doubt. For a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven back and forth, and tossed about by the wind. Such doubters cannot decide about anything they do, so they should not imagine receiving anything from the Lord.” James 1:5-7
“The man said, ‘Please heal my son if you can.’ Jesus replied, ‘What do you mean, “If I can?” Anything is possible IF a person believes.’ The father replied, ‘I do believe, but help me not to doubt!’” Mark 9:22-24 (NLT)
[area]
3. INVITE [text] TO FUEL MY IMAGINATION
“I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper who will be with you forever. That helper is the Spirit of Truth…you know him because he lives with you and will be IN you!” John 14:16-17 (GW)
“Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your law… Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful miracles.” Psalm 119:18, 27 (NLT)
“The Sovereign Lord has given me his words of wisdom, so I know what to say to all these weary ones. Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding to his will.” Isaiah 50:4 (NLT)
[area]
4. STOP & START WHAT YOU [text]
“To your faith, add goodness; and to your goodness, add knowledge; and to your knowledge, add self-control; and to your self-control, add patience; and to your patience, add service for God; and to your service for God, add kindness for your brothers and sisters in Christ; and to this kindness, add love for everyone. IF all these things are in you and are growing, they will help you to be useful and productive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But anyone who does not have these things cannot see clearly.” 2 Peter 1:5-9 (NCV)
[area]
5. MAKE SURE THE DREAM I’M [text]
If a dream is from God, it will be connected somehow to His [text].
“If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will find true life.” Mark 8:35 (NLT)
QUESTIONS TO ASK: What if? Why not? Why not me?

[text]: The man who missed Christmas!
Matthew 2:1-18
We all have a little [text] inside of us - don't be a [text]!
Matthew 6:19 MSG “Don’t hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or—worse!—stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it’s safe from moth and rust and burglars. It’s obvious, isn’t it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being."
Matthew 6:33 MSG "Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met."
Matthew 6:33 NLT “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
Matthew 16:24-25 NIV “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it."
GOD'S PRINCIPLES FOR GIVING MY BEST (The Laws of Sowing & Reaping)
1. EVERYTHING I HAVE IS A [text] AND NOTHING HAPPENS UNLESS IT'S [text].
John12:24 Jesus said, “Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, it cannot reproduce. But if it dies, it will produce much fruit.”
Mark 4:26-27 (NCV) Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is like someone who plants seed in the ground. Night and day, whether the person is asleep or awake, the seed still grows, but the person does not know how it grows. “
[area]
2. WHATEVER I [text] IS WHAT I WILL [text].
Galatians 6:7 (TEV) “You will reap exactly what you plant.”
Galatians 6:7b-8 (Mes) “The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others, and ignoring God, harvests a crop of weeds. That’s all he'll have to show for his life! BUT the one who plants in response to God, letting God's Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life!”
[area]
3. I ALWAYS REAP IN A [text] FROM WHEN I PLANT.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-5 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven … A time to plant and a time to harvest … a time to scatter and a time to gather…"
Galatians 6:9 (LB) “Let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we WILL reap a harvest of blessing IF we don't get discouraged and give up.”
[area]
4. I ALWAYS REAP [text] THAN WHAT I PLANT.
Mark4:8 “Some seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, MULTIPLYING thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times."
2 Corinthians 9:6-7 “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will reap generously. Each one should give what he’s decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Proverbs 11:24 (Mes) “The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.”
2 Corinthians 9:10 “For God, who supplies seed to the farmer and bread to eat, will give you more and more seed to plant and will make it grow so that you can give away more and more fruit from your harvest!”
[area]
5. I MUST PLANT BY [text] AND NOT BY MY [text].
Psalm 126:5-6 “Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, BUT they sing as they return with the harvest!”
Ecclesiastes 11:4 “Those who wait for perfect weather will never plant seeds; and those who look at every cloud will never reap a harvest."
[area]
- I will make Jesus the King of my life. [text]

- I will meet with my family or friends and decide my commitment to the Beyond Belief Campaign.[text]
- I will bring my best commitment on 12/11 & best Christmas gift to Jesus on 12/18.[text]
Obedience is: [text] + [text] + [text]
MEMORY VERSE: “If you love me, you will obey what I command.” John 14:15 (NIV)
“This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.” Matthew 1:18-19 (NIV)
EXCUSE: I CAN’T. IT’S IMPOSSIBLE.
OBEY GOD IN SPITE OF THE [text]
“‘How will this be,’ Mary asked the angel, ‘since I am a virgin?’ The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God.’” Luke 1:34-37 (NIV)
No [text] of God shall lack the [text] of God for its fulfillment
My [text] is God’s [text]
“After he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins’ . . . When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name, Jesus.” Matthew 1:20-25 (NIV)
[area]
EXCUSE: IT’S TOO MUCH TROUBLE. I’M BUSY.
“In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world . . . And everyone went to his own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:1-7 (NIV)
“But you, Bethlehem . . . out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from days of eternity.” Micah 5:2 (NIV)
[area]
EXCUSE: I DON’THAVE IT. IT’S TOO MUCH.
"When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name, Jesus.” Matthew 1:24-25 (NIV)
[area]
EXCUSE: LET ME THINK ABOUT IT. MAYBE LATER?
“. . . An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. ‘GET UP,’ he said, ‘take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.’ SO HE GOT UP, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt . . . After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, ‘GET UP, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.’ SO HE GOT UP, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel.” Matthew 2:13-14, 19-21 (NIV)
“Morning by morning he awakens my ear to hear what he is going to teach me.” Isaiah 50:4 (NIV)
“I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.” Psalm 119:60 (NLT)
“But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee, and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth.” Matthew 2:21-23 (NIV)
[area]
I will obey God even if it seems impossible.[text]
I will obey God even if it’s inconvenient.[text]
I will obey God even if it costs.[text]
I will obey God quickly, consistently and thoughtfully.[text]
“Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.”
King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem. He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, “Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?” “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they said, “for this is what the prophet wrote: ‘And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.’ ” Then Herod called for a private meeting with the wise men, and he learned from them the time when the star first appeared. Then he told them, “Go to Bethlehem and search carefully for the child. And when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and worship him, too!”
After this interview the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. When it was time to leave, they returned to their own country by another route, for God had warned them in a dream not to return to Herod.” Matthew 2:1-12 NLT

Luke 2:1-5, 7-20 “In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.
He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.
She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told."

Philippians 2:6-11 (NLT) (Jesus), though he was God, did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
