Accounts un-merging :( #188

Hi. I've been merging student accounts due to student ID number updates, and for some strange reason, within an hour the accounts are unmerged again. I've used the plugin before and not had any issues.

Moodle version 3.10.3+ (Build: 20210413)

It doesn't appear to be affecting all users from what I've been able to ascertain. Some of them are sticking with the merge, and not others....

Hi!

Thanks for the feedback.

Some considerations: plugin has a setting to "suspend" the old user after merging. So that old user cannot log in again and you, as site admin, force the person to use only the kept user account. If you don't enable that setting, the person can still use both accounts on your site.

The question is: have you enabled that setting and are you suspending users when merged? If you want old user account not be used any more, enable it.

Another different consideration: maybe you have some synchronization script that resets users accounts and make both accounts active. So the person can still use both accounts then on.

Review these points and let us know.

Thanks

Hi. Thanks for getting back to me.

The old accounts, have already been suspended via our LDAP server and students have been migrated to new login ID's. Hence needing to merge their older coursework to the new ID

I've just been through the plugin settings and there is no option that you describe, only the "Only transactions allowed" and "Resolve Quiz attempts" options.

There is no script that I'm aware of that makes both accounts active. Only their new ID is active on our Moodle

From our IT Dept:

The learners old S0 profile is still in AD, but disabled and has moved out of scope.

Hi!

Sorry for the time last.

Is this still happening?
