Just twitching tal maru on elite dangerous, game appears to be based basically on frontier first encounter from what i see..
Got an idea tho..
Docking permission command. Basically you tag a door, piston or light with an id for each docking position. If docking permission granted it either opens the door, turns on a light or extends a piston depending what you tag.
Eg. in Ramblers frontier i have 3 airtight doors leading to different hangar deck positions.
If someone requested to dock, and the mod assigned them port 3 after detecting they are in a small ship, it opens any door named [port 3] turns on any lights marked [port 3] or pushes out any piston named [port 3] or a combination of all three.
Might not be practical tho.. (how can it detect if a spot is free etc) but would be a cool little salute to the old 4x elite style games.
