[Regression] Call of Cthulhu At Destiny's End no longer playable after v0.66 #1431

Quick summary

This is in regards to the E3 2005 demo of Call of Cthulhu. The game booted fine on builds prior to v0.67, but have since been displaying nothing but black screen on boot.

System Details

Information needed:

Windows 10
i9 10850k, 32GB DDR4 3600, RTX 3080 10GB.
v0.67, v0.68

Issue Details

The demo was fully playable, albeit with audio and graphical issues in versions v0.65 and v0.66. Starting with v0.67 it displays nothing but black screen.

Seems to be broken by this: https://github.com/jpd002/Play-/commit/f5bcb8bb1d973bfc6d73fda648a713daeeae95c3. I changed the implementation a bit locally and I got it to work again, I'll clean it up and push that later.

Thanks for the details regarding the versions, helped a lot to identify the issue.
