You are right, the main story mode also work in the master branch, thanks for reporting this :).

Yeah, I think it was fixed by a change I made to fix movies in Castlevania: Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness (https://github.com/jpd002/Play-/commit/b4addb46d5e82be2620d6e98f88dbe7f009604e2). Seems to have fixed lots of Konami games (ex.: Contra: Shattered Soldier).

The game freezes at this point after i killed the first monster and returned to the town. However it does not freeze if i unequip my weapon before going to this point. Tested on 0.34-37-g15b3c452 - Nov 27

Sounds very similar to what's happening in #254.

Test on build 0.35-69 g9face3d0

the game before the latest builds was playable with drops in fps and the movie broke now it is no longer possible to play

Which platform are you testing the game on @mayweather911? Tested on Win32 and it seems to work.

With iPhone 11 Pro version iOS 14.3 But with the latest version of play! it is working again , But it has problems with the start-up film you can't see and when there are game films the voice always repeats the same things.
