Unable to restart/stop squid3 #15

When doing service stop squid3 or service restart squid3, I get the error 

[FAIL] Stopping Squid HTTP Proxy 3.x: squid3[....]  Waiting.......................................................................... failed.

Squid3 is running on a server with 2GB of free swap space. Why is this happening?

You should look at the logs. There is probably a problem with your squid config.

This tracker is for the docker container which launches squid for you. If you need help with squid itself it would be more appropriate to take this up in squid support channels: http://www.squid-cache.org/Support/mailing-lists.html From their support page
