Gameplay will occur within several themed "zones", each of which has different means of level generation, different enemies, different environmental obstacles, etc.
The main progression of zones will be:
ancient caves
caves with barely-functioning security apparatus
ruins of dead alien race
dead aliens' military base, still powered with core heat
But the levels need not progress linearly through these zones; there may be zones "off to the side" of the main progression to lend extra flavor.
