UITK/Tableau template & presentation

Goal: form written guidance + provide an executable Tableau workbook file for DXD users that would like to implement UITK foundations within Tableau. This initiative will help save design time, effort and achieve consistency when using Tableau.

July 14 - catch up with paul about next steps June 30 - progress has slowed down due to dev availability, and I'm also experiencing access issues for the software which I'm trying to resolve. Re-scheduled meeting with Uttara/Paul/Vikas to next week. June 26 - review meeting set for end of this week, require Paul's feedback on design June 23 - spacing issues identified - in progress; group review mtg pushed to next week friday due to offsite June 16 - minor changes - spacing; another review session with Paul next week - hopefully final review and discuss next steps June 9 - ? June 2 - regroup/design review meeting postponed to next week, the dev working on the project is aiming to meet other project deadlines atm, and so we've been unable to meet this week. May 18 - regroup with the tableau devs + Paul took place. Devs updated Salt team on progress with tableau workbook. Work is still in progress, Nav to support design refinements for the default version of the tableau workbook. May 12 - catch up with devs next tuesday May 4 - in progress May 2 - in progress April 28 - planned the initial delivery of this task - meeting mid may (main dev on it v busy) April 26 - second meeting taking place tomorrow April 25 - meeting with team took place, another mtg with devs who will work on this and then move fwd April 24 - meeting scheduled with UITK (Nav, Paul) + Fusion team to discuss the scope the guidance will cover, and explore any additional features of Tableau that we can leverage for the guidance. This currently includes 1:1 mapping of UITK typography scale, and data-vis colour palettes.

Meeting notes (Tableau/Dashboard pattern) Sep 14 w/ @bhoppers2008 + @pseys :

Dashboard pattern work:

• Clean up exercise. Focus on narrowing scope down to provide users guidance on how to construct a basic analytical dashboard.
• Quality over quantity: iterate visuals and refine text/theory. Focus on hi-fi mockups that provide a better overview of dashboard structure, communicate visual hierarchy, correct component usage, widgets etc. Align to Salt foundations.
• Reach a point where we can promote an in-progress Dashboard pattern focusing on analytical dashboards.
• For any data-vis content - use hi-charts license + packaging, Elwira's figma plugin, UITK charts page

Once dashboard pattern is in a good place...

• Refine tableau template. Opportunity to marry the two, and for dashboard work to drive tableau work
• Link to tableau template from the dashboard pattern page on the site
• 2nd Tableau template containing stickersheet of data-vis? Something to work with Uttara on

Action items:

• Nav/Paul/Ben to review dashboard pattern within it's existing state and identify content to remove/keep, edit etc
• Nav to talk to Rico about ICE dashboards
• If there's time: Paul to add categorical colours to Salt
