rsshandler/java on windows rt? #57

I'm getting one of the new Surface tablets. I understand Windows RT (if you
don't know what this is specifically please refrain from commenting on what
Windows supports in general, you're not helping) will not support running third
party legacy desktop apps, but does anyone know if it will have java and if it
would be possible to run something like rsshandler on it?

Is there anyone else with interest in this to help make it happen if it is
possible but requires some hacking around with the code? To be able to take
certain regular youtube channels as podcasts offline (for nearly weekly
international flights) on a convertible tablet like the Surface is my dream
come true..

(I assume a backup plan is to run rsshandler on my home desktop and have the
tablet connect to it over LAN when I'm at home, but ideally I'd love for the
tablet to be self-sustaining so that it can continually get new content when
I'm on the road for longer trips versus needing to stop home.)

((Please forgive me for submitting this here but I didn't know where else to
put it and I can definitely see this being something more people will want to
know with Surface and the new Win8 products hitting in another few weeks.))

One other note, of course the full x86 version of Surface will be launching in
another 3 months or so (around CES), so that's another backup plan. But right
now rsshandler (or an equivalent way of scraping youtube videos for offline
access) is the only desktop-style thing I'd really need on it, and otherwise I
was hoping to benefit from the thinner/lighter/better-battery of ARM/RT versus
having to get the x86 version, which I think is reason enough to attempt this
on RT.

It has been confirmed (by myself and others) that WinRT does not have Java nor
is it likely to in the near future. Any chance an aspiring developer wants to
write a Win8 app that subscribes to YouTube content like a podcast for offline
playback? I'd happily pay for this. =)
