backend work to be done

• Test each query and mutation for any issues interacting with mongoose
• Test each query/mutation so they are returning the correct typedefs that graphql expects, and there is useful data in them
• continue to add more middleware for pre/post. add pre middleware error handling on validation for better error debugging
• test the middleware to make sure its working as intended
• test the jwt auth to make sure it is working, and it has its data its looking for

after further reading, considering simplfying graphql resolvers and move auth checks/data fetching to their own functions/classes
