Wont run installer #36

It says unable to install java there are errors in the following switches. It shows the version I'm trying to install but it says check that commands are valid and try again. Any fix?

Hi MRGNVR, can you provide more information, or possibly screenshots of the issue?

I'm having the exact same issue. I think it has to do with the installer being a JAR file insead of .exe

Have you guys tried, ya know… Installing java? You cant run .jar files without java installed. Java 8 off of oracle’s official website will work. And converting the installer to .exe will take too much work for it to be worth it so don’t ask.

Of course I installed Java. That's why I'm frustrated.

Here's something from the Vivecraft FAQ:

I can’t run the installer!

The Vivecraft installer requires java 8+ to run. Make sure you have java installed. If Java is already installed and the application will not run or prompts you to open it with another application, try Jarfix which is a quick and easy utility to repair Java file associations.
