Exercise control + closing #38

I think it would be nice to explain that in order to advance in an exercise, you need to exactly do as the text says - maybe as a first step in the exercise. Alternatively, provide the "next" button from the start.

Also, there is currently no way to close the exercise once started. Is there some way to stop / quit / interrupt the exercise in one panel, because it even blocks all other exercises in the other panels?

I'm bumping this, since I've updated the issue to include closing the exercise as well.

I think while continuing the exercise might not be so relevant, closing the exercise would be very relevant. Especially since starting the exercise in one panel blocks it in all others, as far as I understand.

In todays usability test, the exercise control buttons were not consistently available, but vanished sometimes. Can this be fixed?

In addition, a "Back" button would be helpful.
