looks like boot doesn't have good cursive support yet - https://github.com/boot-clj/boot/wiki/For-Cursive-Users , https://github.com/cursive-ide/cursive/issues/692 - so i'm going to put this off for now
see if it buys us anything
do just a simple branch that does a minimal switch to boot, see what that looks like
