Very good idea!
I think a first step could be to embed media from main streaming platforms like youtube and soundcloud. It easier if we don't need manage file storage and streaming at start.
We can imaging to embed Youtube video and synchronise read/stop actions for all players. Same for a sound library widget with multiple sound that can be played on demand.
When you read a media, it must be read in real time at the location of each player. --> The media must first be downloaded from the players.
Possibility to stream? If there is no need for real time.
The media element can be visible or hidden (you cannot see what is being read, etc.). Thus, a player can act as the game master and control the media. For example, it could trigger ambient sounds.
