I have never seen nothing like that, would you mind recording a video to see exactly what are you doing?

every single rocket i have tried to launch with this mod just snaps in half, usually around the 35km mark. autostrut did not help and rigid attachment just made it snap way earlier, around 2 km.

Would you mind to test the latest version of KSP 1.11?
I'm having the same issue. I launch, start my gravity turn, and then somewhere between 10-15km up, sometimes before sometimes after SRB separation, the game like hitches, and then the whole craft starts snapping and disintegrating. Sometimes, right around one of the MULTIPLE camera shake notifications I get with this mod. I'm running the latest version of everything and can help give whatever you need to help diagnose, but as is, I cannot use this mod for SRB recovery.
Which PRE range are you using?
Do you have any other vessels located within that range? Do you have other mods like World Stabilizer installed?
1.21.0 for PRE on the latest 1.21.3 build on steam. Set the range to 50km and there were no orbiting craft within range. I am running a Vanilla+DLC game other than trying out PRE.
