I'm hoping to use this in gulp-cfx-xpi (see line 40)

Sure, I'll add this -- can you add in the docs as well? Also, cfx is being deprecated in favor of jpm, which is the same thing built in node for the most part, and I'd imagine you'd have an easier time working with it than cfx
