It keeps Travis from working and it is a pain to work with a very unstable branch like this.
This was not a problem with the fork, the functionality was removed in the later version that the fork was based on. It is planned to be put back in.
Hopefully the fork that supports XML will get merged into AMS core, otherwise I believe it's better to just drop support for XML and go back to the stock AMS.
The fork currently has no support for url-helpers making it somewhat less pleasant to work with event though the XML-support seems to be working.
