5 years ago Hi iansoady, this extension keys off of the file extension.
In the above example, it's a default document for a directory on the webserver (for example, index.html or index.php) but since the file extension does not appear on the URL, the extension can't do anything with it so there are no action buttons.
In order to create a rule for .txt, you need to first retrieve a .txt file so it appears in the log.

I’ve tried returning a .txt file via a hyperlink in another document (http://www.iansoady.org.uk/txt_test/index.html) but this just displays in the browser and nothing appears in the log file…….

5 years ago Hi Ian, the .txt file appears in the log for me. If you already had the log open, make sure to use the Refresh Log button or close and re-open the log page. The newest entries should appear at the top.

5 years ago Many thanks Jefferson. For some reason when I try it again it seems to work! Probably some obscure setting somewhere.

Hi. I need to use this to automatically download text files (extension .txt) rather than displaying them in the browser. But I don't see the buttons mentioned to add this extension. Firefox 68.02 Windows 10 Pro.
Any ideas? I attach a screenshot.
