Unfortunately, the list that spacebar gets you in the address bar is not available to the extension.
This extension gets the same list as what you see if you type ^ into the address bar, minus "hidden" URLs (I'm not 100% sure what URLs are hidden, but ones that always redirect are among them).
The spacebar list appears appears to be more heavily weighted toward recent visits than total visits, but that's just a guess on my part. For me, # 2-8 are in a different order between the two, and the extension is missing # 5 (hidden URL).
Would it be helpful as a workaround to be able to set the order? Currently the extension doesn't store any addresses, it always retrieves them dynamically, but I don't think it would be too difficult to store them. (What is it they say about "famous last words"?)
Thanks for this add-on. It makes Firefox 78 ESR more tolerable.
I've noticed that the order of sites doesn't seem to be by frequency of use. If I hit spacebar in the addressbar, the list is roughly in order of frequency. With this add-on, the list is in a different order - I don't know what.
You've mentioned Mozilla's "secret sauce" for the order. Does the spacebar provide a way of finding it?
