We can create a warning when the user has more than 2 commits and then show him the correct command to squash his commits.

2 because = info.ini + update.json to allow users to use the web interface

Can you squash commits with the web interface? Can you add a section to the contributing.md for squashing

Not that I am aware of. If the user has more than 2 commits then he should squash no matter if he used the web interface or git
