Drupal Europe Demo

We would like to have a demo of this project for Drupal Europe 🎉

• [ ] Agree on what our demo will be
• [ ] Write a Nightwatch test that performs this demo
• [ ] Record a video of this, because live demos are scary

I'd like to work on this.

I was thinking the demo could be the creation of a community driven dinner recipe site. It would cover:

• Creating Content Types
• Creating Content
• Creating Dummy Content
• Organizing Content with Views
• Adding Blocks
• Customizing the Homepage
• Creating Contact Forms

@kdonaldson - Some of those things are possibly a bit out of scope for what we wanted to accomplish by Drupal Europe.

I think originally we had wanted to have a working demo of,

• the content listing page, /admin/content
• node add form, /node/add/recipe

@kdonaldson To give you more context, the primary goal of the admin UI initiative is to build a better admin UI, not changing the way how the frontend is put together. On the admin UI the two most important pages are the content listing and content form.

Discussed with @mattgrill and @webchick yesterday an we had some ideas for UX improvements that could be demoed:

• Auto saving entity edit and create forms (by using local storage)
• Improved entity reference widget
• Improved file / image upload

One additional idea oculd be: offline support, which could also include making it possible for people on slower connections to have a good experience

Main content regarding the design part:

• Updates about the user research (survey results, card sorting results -I hope-)
• Updates about the design system

Also I think talking briefly about the Seven redesign can be good. What's going to happen, why and what we need it from it.

Does the design update include some screenshots / mockups and whatnot? (Both of the Seven refresh and the "next-gen" UI) I think we need to show something visual so people can get an idea of what to expect / get excited about.

Components redesigned for Seven for sure, so we'll be able to show an "screenshot" for the new Seven. Final and finished designs for the "next-gen" UI will be complicated, but the goal is to have first wireframes ready to test by then.
