Remember these "Desktops" that popped up when AJAX became popular?
That was sorta cool (or at least that's what 15 year old me thought)... and cloud computing is en vogue anyways - so why not work with applications on a "Desktop" that's actually your browser?
And while we're on the "new hotness" track: Let's do that in web components.
Abstract
Web components are a great way to build modern web applications, so how can we build something similar to ChromeOS with them?
This talk starts with quickly explaining how web components work and why they're ubercool, then walks the audience through building a multi-window interface with it and load "applications".
This talk is a combination of the topics
web components
cloud computing
new web experiences
About me
I am working as a software engineer for Archilogic where I deal with Web GL, Node.js, Databases and systems. I am using a Firefox OS phone as my primary phone and work mostly from a Chromebook. I truly love the web and believe it's not just the future but also the present, if done right.
