Protondb is a community website where user can share and see how well windows game run on steam play/proton. It would be a nice addition for Linux gamers and could be an option. https://www.protondb.com/

So, Enhanced Steam is discontinued. There is now Augmented Steam. Perhaps your requested feature/bugfix is already implemented there! If not, you could move your issue there.
