Thanks for the PR. I'm hoping to pull this in for a 6.0 release next week. I can't include this in the 5.x series because increasing the minimum PHP version is a BC break. I am in the process of releasing 5.6.0 which does bring official support for PHP 7.4 and also switches to algo26-matthias/idna-convert.

This work was included in PR #70
