Cannot install IPA through iTunes or Installous.

Firmware:
Snowbreeze custom 4.2.8 firmware

iTunes Error:
Requires newer firmware

Installous Error:
Invalid IPA

.3 worked great, but you should also try to get iTransmission into a repo to
avoid all of the manual installation problems.

Great work man, I've been looking for a torrent client for months, and today
xSellize 'cracked' v.3. Until I hear something on this, I'll be using v.3.

Thanks,
guitarp

I was able to get the latest .ipa build to install by modidying the
"minimum version" string within the .ipa

I used this tool to modify the .plist file
http://www.softsea.com/review/plist-Editor.html

use winrar to view the contents of the ipa, then enter folder:
payload -> iTransmission.app->info.plist

edit and replace the old plist file.
then install with ifunbox

You change it exactly as he says:

Using that program fond the Minimum Version attribute, should say 4.3. Change
it to 4.0

Not sure if this still applies to the newer versions or if it's been fixed.

There isnt a need for plist editor. Just use iFile(available on cydia) to
browse your iDevice and edit the plist file. Respring once after you edit
info.plist

Sorry that the minimum version was set to wrong value, it will be corrected in
next release. For now, please refer to @Jon's solution.

Please try the following.. hope it helps..
You can clear your cache or cookies in ‘Settings’, ‘Safari’

If that doesn’t help, pls try the following…

‘Settings’, then ‘carrier’, unchecked ‘Automatic’,

wait for a while to see all the available service providers just below
‘Automatic’ function, then choose ur service provider manually.. e.g.
AT&T, T-Mobile, SingTel, StarHub,etc.. then
**’REBOOT’**(//##important##//*)..

NOTE (important) : you may still need to switch between ‘Automatic’ and
‘Manual’ carrier mode since you may still encounter the same issue while
you are in ‘Manual’ carrier mode. Just switch them vice versa..

if you think your service provider’s 3G is not powerful enough, please try to
install ‘My3G Cracked’ from SinfuliPhone.. It makes ur iphone thinks 3G as
WiFi.. hv fun..

I have iPod touch 2nd generation 4.2.1. I installed version 1.1 via Xsellize
repo (didn't know where else to get it, since installing through installous
gave me "invalid ipa").
It crashes on startup, blackscreen and then back to springboard.

I've read through every scrap of information I could find and I'm in the same
boat as most of the other people with install issues.

My device:
iPod Touch 2G
iOS 4.2.1
Mobile Substrate Add-Ons
    -Activator
    -Preference Loader
    -libhide
    -resupported

I've used winSCP to put iTransmission.app into my Applications folder, I've ran
chmod but it crashes on launch. Oh and yes I've resprung after the changes etc.

After reading some other posts I've tried putting the ipa into the installous
downloads folder (again with the info.plist modded) but it says invalid ipa.

I've tried 1.1 and 0.5 but no luck.

I would very much like a torrent app on the ipod, it would bring new life to
this 2g iTouch that I have. I appreciate the time and effort you've put into
this, all I'm asking is a little direction on trying to get it installed. I'm
no linux guru but I'm not a complete newbie either. Hopefully with the info
I've given maybe you could shed some light as to why its not installing.

Thanks

Since it appears there are many of us facing the same issue could you try to
answer or provide some debug suggestions?

Easy fix bro, your recompiling it from when u editted plist wrong... I have a
comment somr where on her with detailed Instructions, also i had a direct dl
link with if already done for you but idk if it got taken down?

Original comment by machster...@hotmail.com on 28 Sep 2011 at 10:05

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
@ Machster
What are you using to recompile it? I've been renaming to .zip then opening
with 7zip, editing the plist with plist editor, then trying to install from
there. I've looked through pretty much all of the comments on here so I'd very
much appreciate it if you could just elaborate a little more (ie what programs
are you using)Also when you say recompile are you meaning compile as in the
sense of compiling a program or is this a mistranslation and you're meaning
rebuild the archive?

Original comment by jphphoto...@gmail.com on 29 Sep 2011 at 1:54

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Nah, jus when u rebuild after editting... Ull kno u did it right when itunes
accepts it! Im telling u somewhere i had a tut, less he took it down? Im at
work until morning, ill try n get u a dl link back up with it already done...

@Machster
The one that you had fixed and uploaded to mediafire no longer exists, try
dropbox and then just post the public link. Also, I'm not using itunes to
install the apps, can I not do it through installous or directly via WinSCP?

Original comment by jphphoto...@gmail.com on 29 Sep 2011 at 2:50

U can and will use installous, i was jus sayin itunes will give u an idea if it

Or, dl ifile on ipod from cydia, then safari dl manager from cydia, then goto
link here on ipod and dl file, use ifile to find it, and change to .zip,
unarchive, edit plist with property list editor(plist), make changes, rezip
with ifile, change back to ipa, move to installous dl, open installous and
install .... Uhh thats outa my head so cross ur fingers?

Is 2g supported anyways??

Original comment by machster...@hotmail.com on 29 Sep 2011 at 3:04

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I did all of that, tried editing on PC, tried doing as you suggested and
editing via ifile etc no luck. As for if 2G is supported its not officially
stated anywhere on here, there have been quite a few people commenting though
claiming to be using it on a 2G ipod touch running iOS 4.2.1 like I am.

Basically I'm not retarded and I've followed everything correctly, just thought
I had to be missing something. Perhaps something else that I've installed is
messing this up. I'll email you (machster) and if you want to send me your ipa
I'll give it one last go.

FYI for anyone reading this, I've finally been able to install this on a 2G
ipod touch running iOS 4.2.1 however the info.plist hack only works for
iTransmission version 0.5 and lower.

Either the developer will address this or he won't, I just thought I'd mention
this so others don't bang their head against the wall trying to figure out why
its not working. Just do the info.plist work around with 0.5 and install
backgrounder, seems to work just fine so 1.1 isn't necessary.

Original comment by jphphoto...@gmail.com on 5 Oct 2011 at 3:27

U dont need backgrounder if u set the string for exiting to off
