I will like to know the representative's district and also their salaries. The amount spend by each representative would be great too. Great job!
I liked the highlighted, call-out of the first representative. One idea might be to show how much the top-renting representatives spent in comparison to the party as a whole, potentially using a stacked bar chart. If you have time!
Not really, I just did a few more analysis using the dataset. The main one was spendings by party, taking into consideration how many representatives each party has in Congress (third graph).
I want the first graph to show the number of airplanes rented by month during the 5 years of the current term of office. I tried converting my date column to the right format and plotting it, but the output was the sum of money spent in each month. I want it to be the number os airplane rentals per month so that each dot represents a different airplane.
Wow I don't have much to say—this is amazing! Might be nice to know which party the politicians who spent the most are from. And it would be great to know the source of the data somewhere on the charts! AMAZing job
I love this! It looks wonderful with the Illustrator additions, and your points are very clearly communicated from a visual and data standpoint. I agree with Jessica about adding the source, and it would be good to try the "adding commas" option if you want to have that addition.
Hello! I'm a little robot, let's take a peek.
You need some feedback, let me summon @troboukis, @Katerinavts, @benbitoun for you
Great colours and overall design! I'd change the R$ to $, cause right now I don't get how much is 1.000.000 R$. On the first graphic I'd emphasise the 'airplane rentals' instead of the Brazilian Government.
I know we're supposed to critique - but this looks amazing. It's so estetiqually attractive that I would look at it no matter what the topic is!
I would say you'd have to change the reais depending on your readers. If you write this piece for Brazilians you'd of course leave the currency how it is. But give me the source of all of this.
Summary
I decided to analyze the Chamber of Deputy’s (the lower house of the Brazilian Congress) spendings on airplane rentals over the course of the past six years (from 2013 to 2018). The dataset I was working on allowed me to look at amount spent, deputy name, transaction date (year and month), rental company, state of origin of the House representative as well as political party.
My data came from brasil.io.
I want my image to look like this:
Details
Data set(s): https://brasil.io/dataset/gastos-deputados/cota_parlamentar?search=&numano=&nummes=&datemissao=&txnomeparlamentar=&sgpartido=&sguf=&txtdescricao=LOCA%C3%87%C3%83O+OU+FRETAMENTO+DE+AERONAVES&txtcnpjcpf=&txtfornecedor=&vlrliquido=

Possible problems/fears/questions: I'm not sure how to plot the count of total airplane rentals.
Work so far
I played with the data a little bit and I got some charts:
