Pitch

I downloaded a dataset about farmers market from USDA long time ago and I was thinking about picking it up and making an interactive map of their locations with their names, hours, specialties. This is a nationwide farmers market database, and I was still debating about couple angles: focusing on one specific city (GO NYC!) , focusing on multiple cities (comparing features like if they accept food stamp, their specialty food, etc) or doing a big US farmers market map.

Summary

If I can fully grasp what we've learnt this Monday, I'd love to apply what we've learnt about Flask to do a mini web app that allow people to search about farmers market in certain neighborhood.

Possible headline(s): Your Ultimate Guide to Farmers Markets

Possible problems/fears/questions:

  1. Unfortunately i've already forgotten most of the QGIS and leaflet stuff, so I have to go over the notes and past projects, hopefully I can finish the recalling part by Friday..
  2. Picking an angle and scope

As to choosing an angle, go with your gut. What are you REALLY interested in here? Looks like NYC w.food stamps & specialty foods. I'd be super interested to see this, if that is any encouragement.
