Pitch

It's been almost a year since Hurricane Maria slammed into Puerto Rico. There are still people without a safe roof over their heads and electricity in their houses. However, islanders will always find the beach to be the place where they can let go of all worries and enjoy quality time. Beaches in Puerto Rico are a main attraction for foreigners and locals since they are warm all year round. Yet one cannot forget that the environment impacts of a category four hurricane does not disappear in a short period of time. On the island all the rivers went out of their channel and dragged debris and dead animals for months. This project intends to answer the questions of many locals and visitors have:

  1. Are Puerto Rican beaches in a good state after Maria or the data says something different?
  2. What’s the beach water quality of the most visited beaches?
  3. Has the hurricane have a life long impact on beach water quality?

i want the first two charts to a before and an after over the same time period. the scales for the long term time period only total a long period of time. even if you charted the percentage change from before and after maria we would be able to get the point. you want to compare comparable time frames.

so is 70 low and 1500 high? i think the color scale should go from light to dark. when i first came to this i thought every beach was terrible.

keep at it! it's mostly there just needs some adjusting
