Michael Phelps: Fish out of Water?

Michael Phelps holds an extensive and impressive record and legacy as an Olympic swimmer. I want to analyze Phelps and in comparison to other famous swimmers. Not only is he one of the most decorated Olympians, but he is returning for his fifth Olympics. This data set is a bit difficult because swim meets are determined by swimmer's times, so Im thinking I might compare Phelps' medal's and notable performances in comparison to his competitors rather than his specific swim times.

I'm thinking of making a visualization similar to the basketball one we saw earlier this year (with Steph Curry), but I am open to suggestions/feedback!

Would it be possible to look at how is times have developed? And make an estimation when he reached his peak? Considering the amount of data you have there of Phelps could be really interesting.

I would make it a "barh" chart, so the labels are horizontal. Much easier to read the names then.
