Collaborative Project: Maps for the BLM Movement

Collaboration with @gcgruen and @kromreig.

Pitch

The Black Lives Matter movement has come up with a new website. While there is a lot of good content on the website, we believe that interesting visuals about the state of African Americans in the United States can be generated that can add some leverage to the movement.

So I'm helping @gcgruen and @kromreig, by making maps that supplement their data.

I'm surprised at the lack of ANY decent visuals for the BLM so far. Most visuals regarding the BLM movement are tracking of the hashtags?!

Following up to @kromreig's and my part, we thought there might be two ways to approach yours: Either you could visualize our data to see whether there are emerging geographical patterns. BUt maybe you'd prefer having something that is more complementary? In that case we thought you might want to look at primary schools or middle schools? Bc Georgia is focusing on preschool, with advanced coursework, I'm more on the highschool side of things -- maybe you want to think of mapping something inbetween those two groups?
