Mapping Google's Dead Links

The Search Engine has removed 1,7 billion URLS with copyright infringing material since 2011. This map shows the 500+ million links that google removed from top level country domains. It highlights the countries with most links removed per top level domain, the most notorious copyright infringers, and displays how removal requests Google receives have progressed over time.

This is such an interesting dataset, and the design already looks really polished. The one thing I would consider – which I mentioned in class – is to make the number increments in the legend a little more clear. If there are significant events that coincide/explain the spikes in the Removal Requests per Month graph, I might also consider noting them in annotations. Looking forward to seeing the finished project!
