I used to not like JSON Schema as the learning curve is a bit steep. The good side is that It’s incredibly flexible and it allows different runtimes to be compatible and compete - we can switch the app whenever needed. As it is declarative standard, you can convert between it and GraphQL or other languages. I bet on it for Fastify and I would do it again.

JSON is the language computers are speaking today. JSON Schema allows computers to communicate in a well-defined way. APIs are a contract. Who wouldn't want to be specific about a contract?
