Somehow formatting changed a lot in your code my changes are actually very small, a diff ignoring white spaces will show up the desired changes. If formatting is a problem for you i can resubmit...

I also updated x-display-order to use the "hidden" attribute... By the way I noticed that it is somehow different from the Object handling in the plain renderer. Shouldn't it be the same except the "ordering and hidden" stuff?
