Minor CI improvements #48

  1. I did not realize the tests would not run on new pull requests / that you have to explicitly tell the workflow to do that - added it.
  2. Ensured the status badge in the readme always reflects the builds that are run on master. This way, builds of pull requests can fail and not affect the master branch (which is presumed stable, at least by me ;)) build status.
