iphodroid stopped at "Welcome to openiboot" console #6

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. it always stops at "Welcome to OpeniBoot". The text right there is kind of
messed up, and it doesn't go any further.
2. I had tried 0.6 R6 and R7

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Please let me know the solution

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Iphodroid 0.6 R7 with Iphone 3G 3.1.2 tested on Mac OS X (vmware image)

Remember to choose on the first window your device 2G or 3G. I've reported some
people owning for example a 2G and did choose 3G on a mistake and Scroll Mode
wont work. Your iphone must be connected to usb all the time

I also had the same problem. It looks like iPhoDroid isn't continuing through
the process once the device is in scroll mode. This is what I did to finish
the OpeniBoot install.

Start up iPhoDroid again and resume the OpeniBoot install.
Held the Power/Home button to restarted the phone, and selected the console
option from the OpeniBoot menu.
Once I got to the WELCOME TO OPENIBOOT text I manually finished the rest of the
process.

If iPhoDroid is in your downloads folder run type/paste
~/Downloads/iPhoDroid.app/Contents/Resources/oibc in to Terminal.
At this point you should see the same text that is on your iPhone.
Type install
Type reboot

Your phone should reboot to the OpeniBoot bootloader. Hope this helps someone.

Did you get to the WELCOME TO OPENIBOOT part? Were you able to connect after
running oibc? You had the phone plugged in to your computer during the process
right?

Original comment by classic...@gmail.com on 28 Jun 2010 at 5:57

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Hello classicmac! When I run oibc into terminal this is the response:

Client connected: !<filename>[@<address>] to send a file,
~<filename>[@<address>]:<len> to receive a file

I think something goes wrong.

I have iPhoDroid 0.6 R11, iPhone 2G 3.1.2 and Mac OS X 10.6.4

I installed OiB and Android with R9 and it works, but the system isn't very
stable. I'm trying the only-Android upgrade with R11.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Update: I installed successfully only Android with R11 (keeping the OiB version
installed with R9). Android boots fine but no touchscreen available. I think
that the best way for now is installing everything with 0.6 R9 and don't
upgrade anything.

I was able to get openiboot to start by using the utility install open iboot
thing where it wants you to go into scroll mode. Once the phone restarted and
showed the usb cord and itunes logo i let go. openiboot stayed on the screen
and I was able to select Android from the menu. At this moment Android is still
booting. I will update as to how it goes.

I was able to do that method with R11. I will be trying R9 as soon as I can.

this is also happening to me on a 2g 3.1.2 with quickpwn. it's not a medium
defect issue, it's a huge one. i can't install anything without being able to
get the program past its hangup. will there be a fix for this soon?!

I have the same issue trying to enter scroll mode using R11, it just hangs at
the welcome to openiboot screen and doesn't sync with the computer
screen....Trying R9 now to see if I can get openiboot installed...

My phone is a 3g and was jail-broken with pawnage tool.

I was able to finally get it to work after getting to this problem by: Using
iTunes to do a full restore to iOS 4.0 (Official Release), jailbreaking with
redsn0w 0.9.5b5-2 (the GM beta release, stable release wouldn't recognize the
IPSW), and then using iPhoDroid 2 R11 stable. Maybe this combo will work for
others? I also enable multitasking, battery percentage, wallpaper, and verbose
boot in redsn0w for iOS, if that makes a difference.

I just tried the whole full restore like Chris posted, using exactly the same
settings, jailbreak etc, and I am still getting the exact same freeze on
welcome to openiboot, scroll mode wont properly engage. It does sit there for a
while, and even gives the message that it is complete, but you can't boot into
openiboot at all....Tried this several times now, and am officially giving up
till a non beta version comes out. Then I will try again (maybe)

Install Android with THE latest version not THE 1shot but R11
then download Naidroid for Windows (only 2g)(search on google
for naidroid 2g then click THE link from the idroid forum and THE zesg link)
once its downloaded go to openiboot and click install

do the install from utility. put into scroll mode. let go at the usb and
itunes symbol. use volume rocker to choose os boot.

Same issue here. Installed R13 and got stuck on scroll mode. I then tried
manually adding the image of openiboot but got stuck also (on mac & ubuntu) Not
sure what goes wrong. Android is installed (checked it with cyberduck) but
openiboot gets stuck on "welcome to openiboot" and doesn't sync in scroll mode
with the terminal.
