Conflicting instructions #36

Christopher,
Do you think its dangerous to have these over simplified instructions (i.e., not setting the python variables, etc.) posted... especially when our instructions will be morphing every few days?

http://labs.blogs.com/its_alive_in_the_lab/2012/11/project-sci-viz-for-3ds-max-n
ow-available.html

I'm worried many people will get stuck. Is it too lat to ask Scott just to
point to the installation page on
http://www.autopack.org/download/3d-studio-max-installation
instead of having truncated instructions... or perhaps to point to the
installation instructions on the SciViz page:
http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/sciviz/getting_started

I think before anyone posts any major release announcement that we should have
everything point to one controlled installation / branding location.
Thanks,
G

You can work this out with Carlos. I'm not worried because they have to see the
instructions when downloading autoPack for 3ds Max. Up to you.

the installer of upy-3DSMAX take care of the PYTHONPATH and PATH env variable.
But if Python is not installed in C:/Python26 it is worth mentioning it.
Also I discover that setting up PYTHONPATH broke Maya 2013.
