nfs4 corrupts the heap #2

the frequency seems to have dropped by avoid extend buffer, but the math seems right. mcheck() catches it sometimes before free/malloc, but not always

this has stopped happening on the write branch. neither malloc or memcheck throws any issues, so if its still there its gone into hiding
