• west_misinformation_2021: By Bergstrom and coll., this paper discusses the spread of misinformation about science from various perspectives. There is a section on intervention about what science can do to mitigate the misinformation about their work, as well as society at large (how best to educate people to make them better at spotting bullshit). There is no modeling work or data associated with it, but they provide a nice conceptual overview of the coevolution between technology-misinformation epidemics-society.
• bak-coleman_stewardship_2021: Another large team paper that discusses the coevolution between algorithms and the spread of misinformation, or what they refer to as algorithmic feedback. This paper argues that the information revolution changed significantly the spread of misinformation in terms of the scales and novelties (e.g. larger network distances that misinformation can spread, with whom, novel structural features, etc.).
