Documentation Prosody [xcauth.conf] #78

Hi Marcel Waldvogel, I'm trying to enable your wonderful "ojsxc" on Nextcloud 15.0.2, Debian Stretch and Prosody 0.11. But I have uncertainties in the procedure to follow. At the step "Adding authentication to Prosody" seems to me not so clear two steps:

A) "Run the commands on the XMPP server, if you have two machines" -> is not clear for me, in particular:

  1. which commands?

  2. and only if I have two machines?

B) When you write /etc/xcauth.conf, maybe you mean xauth? In fact if I try to set:

chown xcauth:xcauth /etc/xcauth.conf

Obtain:

chown: invalid user: ‘xcauth:xcauth’

Many many Thanks!

Davide

Excuse me I've found (after several adventures) your xmpp-cloud-auth. Now I've a Nextcloud instance and Prosody 0.11, on Debian Stretch. in this situation (no xmpp-cloud-auth installed), I cannot view any user on my Nextcloud ojsxc, and this should be right. Do you suggest me to install it from your deb repository, and configure it as you suggest here?

Excuse me for all this series of questions but I would not like to expose the system to dangers due to my mistakes :-)

Thanks!

Davide

Is there no user xcauth in /etc/passwd? How did you install xcauth?
