Writing full-stack code without repeating yourself #91

I would like to propose the following presentation idea… Writing full-stack code without repeating yourself

As full-stack developers, we write a lot of duplicate and boilerplate code for everyday things such as simple database CRUD, data validation, authorization, and data-type conversions. How can we use a modern web architecture but still maintain our code DRY and increase productivity?

In this live coding session, we'll turn a front-end React app into a full-stack app with code that is easy to write, follow, and, most importantly - maintain. Using: React, node js, express, Postgres and remult

Here's a link to a video of a similar talk I gave at Budapest JS: https://youtu.be/CnCaMQCu3Kc?t=346

Estimated length in minutes: 30-40 minutes

Presentor

Noam Honig Founder @ FireflyMigration,
Volunteer full-stack developer/mentor@various NGOs, Creator of remult

Looking forward to hearing from you

Hey @noam-honig 👋

Thanks for proposing the talk.

Do you have desired month in mind to do this talk?

noam-honig commented 1 year ago

I'm currently trying to plan for February - is it ok if I'll get back to you as soon as I have a preferred week?

vblazenka commented 1 year ago

@noam-honig we have some speakers lined up for January and February so I'll have to check with them next week and I'll let you know then.

noam-honig commented 1 year ago

Please wait before you make any changes - as soon as I have a clearer picture of my February - I'll let you know, and we'll align then.

It would be best if you didn't make changes before I'm sure I can visit you :)

Best

@noam-honig Sure! FYI in March we have open slots and we usually do the meetup 3rd or 4th week of the month. :)

vblazenka commented 1 year ago

@noam-honig hey, how are you doing? Do you still want to present at our meetup? If yes - do you have some desired time?

noam-honig commented 1 year ago

Hi, @vblazenka I'm still working a good timing for it. I'll probably not be able to do it in march or April. I'll get get back to you when I have more clarity on dates - is that ok?

@noam-honig no problem :)
