In my workflow I tend to have many different Kontakt instruments running on the same track, and I'll use MIDI Channels to control them independently.
With multiple complex banks, this quickly leads to me scrolling around the reaticulate panel in search of the instrument and articulation I want to activate. Ideally there would be some sort of "collapse" or "minimise" button at each bank's header (next to the information (i) button), to allow the user to focus in on only a select few instruments at a time.
An even better implementation of this would involve some sort of "collapse state follows channel focus" option, where all banks are collapsed UNLESS they are set to receive on the currently focussed MIDI channel. That way, while editing in the MIDI piano roll in Reaper, if we change MIDI channel to work on a different instrument, reaticulate immediately brings up the banks that apply to that channel, and minimises the previous ones.
Mockup image attached should hopefully be a little more clear...
Reaticulate is definitely designed to cater to a track-per-instrument approach. I wonder if others would find this kind of UI functionality useful. I'll ask on the forum. Thanks Jack.
