Rearticulate error on sub-projects with unfrozen midi. No Reaticulate usage. #145

Closed audioplanet closed 2 years ago

audioplanet commented 2 years ago

Whenever I leave a sub-project with some midi not frozen, I get this error Screenshot 2021-10-25 at 07 58 20 . I don't use reticulate anywhere

jtackaberry commented 2 years ago

Hm, interesting one here @audioplanet. It probably won't surprise you to learn I can't reproduce this. :/

A few followup questions:

  1. Does this happen with all existing projects, or just this one?
  2. Does it happen on a fresh project?
  3. Does it only happen when using sub projects, or also if you open a new project?
  4. Does clicking the refresh icon in Reaticulate's toolbar make the error go away?
  5. What files beginning with Reaticulate exist at /Users/krisgorski/Library/Application Support/REAPER/Data?
  6. If you have the time, if you created a fresh portable installation with SWS/ReaPack/Reaticulate, does it still occur? (Trying to understand if it could be an issue of REAPER settings.)

Thanks!

Absent a followup, I'm going to close this issue.

If you run into this in the future, please ensure you're using the latest version of Reaticulate, and try shift-clicking the reload button on Reaticulate's toolbar. If that doesn't clear it up, feel free to follow up here and I'll reopen.

I’ve resintalled a whole new computer and for the moment haven’t run into the problem. Will write if it comes back :)

Hi

Are you by chance using REAPER's program select dialog box to insert articulations and manually choosing the reabank file?

That could cause this problem.

audioplanet commented 2 years ago

No. I don’t use it at all at any time. I opened the project in safe mode and it stopped asking that. Strange. I have uninstalled all rearticulate files before..

What I want is just to be able to work without it installed, but despite it being uninstalled it keeps coming back :(

Can you send me the project? You can attach it here, or email it to me if there's any sensitivity.

audioplanet commented 2 years ago

I can, though I found a workaround. I opened up every sub-project separately and re-saved. This made the dialog go away and now it doesn’t appear any more. As soon as I stumble upon it again I will.
