I installed the homewizard app to my homey 2023, but when trying to add the P1 meter it doesn't find any device, any advice?

Version of Homey 10.0.0 rc110 Version of the Homewizard Homey app 3.2.5 Version of the firmware of the device you are trying to add (Homewizard wifi dongle p1 must be 2.09) 4.14 Confirm Local API has been enabled in Homewizard Energy app needed for discovery YES

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Add device
  2. HomeWizard
  3. Energy P1 dongle
  4. Install
  5. No new devices found

Expected behavior Device should be found and able to select?

eh sorry but how to do that? If I check for updates it says there aren't any?

Here https://tools.developer.homey.app/tools/settings

Enable experimental or wait till it moves to stable. But anything lower than RC115 has issues with mDNS.

ok updating now, strange enough I can't find anything in the mDNS Discovery app either, so then I guess the issue is not related to just your app not finding anything...If I press long then it does find a lot of things like home appliances, google stuff, my router etc, but not the P1 meter.

During pairing p1 with honey you should not press the button of the p1.

i am not, I saw a video online and there it was added to the energy app, and then directly to homey, I tried the same, I also powered the P1 off/on, I restarted your app, I rebooted homey, but nothing seems to work, in the hw app it works fine for months

wifi signal in the P1 is at 100%, and both my homey and p1 are connected to the same network, switched off/on the local api to see if that helped, still nothing. I checked in my router and there I can also see it is connected to the same wifi network.

Homewizard Energy is cloud based. So does not rely on local intranet wifi. Homey searches with mDNS if there devices in your network to add. If your wifi does not allow multicast it will fail. So you must focus now on your wifi. Same wifi doesnt it should work. If it is a guest wifi it will fail as wifi client are not allowed to talk to each other which is a must for Homey and the P1 dongle.

Which video are you referring to?

Xybertecnic commented 1 year ago

just some youtube video, but I finally got it working just now, my ASUS router normally has combined networks 2G4 and 5G, but because of some connecting issues I had with my Homey 2016 (not connecting anymore (Homey can't connect to any network anymore, tried different routers as well) I temporary separated these a while ago, but left both still with the same name. Apparently my Homey was connected to 5G and the P1 to 2G4, and for some reason this seems to be a problem even though it is the same network. When I combined the networks again, I could find the adapter and homey directly connected to it.

Ah ok! THanks for confirming that. Closing this case then.
