The journal only tells you what changed; it's very chatty but doesn't tell you current state. Almost everything is in the companion API; Picard should probably query that too.

I'm working on a set of Javascript libraries for the same purpose as this tool. Trust me, any developer would prefer to use the companion API to scrape for info, material/cargo information unfortunately is not there, it can only be constructed by applying the delta of all journal-entries...
