Should we require a numeric threshold of occurrences for a particular species to be recorded in order to consider it as representative?
Is it accurate to say that since that species was recorded there once, it is possible that it is always present and just cryptic? -> literature search for this. Perhaps a requirement of repetitive year recordings?
Also, what about geographic extent of the species within the ecoregion? What if it exists only in a small cluster in the region? Is that really representative? Example: Serpentine soils and specialist plants that occupy them. Does this effect our study?
