Power supply for APM2 Quadcopter #658

Hi all,

I am building the Arduino quadrotor from scratch. So far, the frame, arduino
board and every necessary stuff has been put in place but the plane still tilts
to the sides when I try to fly it.
I currently use a 12V powered source but with a power supply of about 10 amps.
I understand I need about 20amps to get it moving.
what relatively cheap DC power supplies would you recommend I buy?

Try getting a BEC. My friend and I have tried using a Castle CC BEC and Turnigy
for our Ardupilot set ups. On the Arducopter he used a Turnigy BEC with
built-in power switch, which is convenient for set up. But the Castle BEC is
straight forward.

But I suggest you connect it directly to your Li-Po line rather than the power
distribution board. The line that powers the APM is from the ESC Vcc and GND
lines, which is not where you want to tap.
