GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Cable modem looses connection
2. Cable modem regains connection after some time
3. Need to tell router to renew DHCP as otherwise no Internet connection

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Rouyer should renew DHCP autonomouly after loss of connection/cable modem
restart

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

RT-N56U_1.0.1.8d-p1

Please provide any additional information below.

There is no such problem with original Asus 1.0.1.8b firmware

I am not looking for magicians.
Connection type is cable 50Mb/5Mb, cable modem in bridge mode.
Which syslog? Router, cable modem ? If router do you mean system log in GUI or
other?
Can you be more specific?

You know, you should ask you ISP about problems with dns server. When you
updated it manually dns servers are not available. It uses google's DNS. I can
say that it wokrs very well now.

Write NVRAM value
nvram set detectLink=1
on page
http://192.168.1.1/Main_AdmStatus_Content.asp

and reconnect WAN manually once. Asus disable detect link feature by default in
1.0.1.8d

Looking forward to next build. Good job so far. Thank you!
nvram set detectLink=1 seems to have done the trick with this build 8d-p1.
See attached log.
