Download never begins #143

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.took all steps up to checking boxes for download criteria, including pasting 
the FB login token.  
2.Click begin download.
3.It asks for which folder to put it in.  The bug manifests whether or not its 
a new folder.
4. click "choose".

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Begin download.  Nothing happens.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
r99, Mac OSX 10.8.1

Please provide any additional information below.

The bug is that if you don't select a user (as I didn't above because I didn't 
realize I needed to), and then you choose a folder to download to and click 
Begin Download, nothing happens, but also the users are all grayed out so you 
can not select one at that point.  This is partly a problem with it not being 
completely clear that you MUST select a user from the list.  This could be 
considered several bugs.  #1 being lack of clarity that a user MUST be 
selected.  #2 If you do as above the users list is grayed out, but the Begin 
Download button is enabled (shouldn't be).  #3 Nothing happens when you click 
the Begin Download button.

Issues #113, #122, #131, #140, #143 all appear to be the same issue (I didn't 
find the others before I filed this issue report). So obviously this is 
confusing a lot of people.
