German "Umlaute" are not encoded correctly #54

I now have the Umlaute encoding issue again, this time with V 1.8.2 on Ubuntu 18.04.

This is my old Ubuntu instance, which I haven't deleted, because of JPilot didn't work on 20.04 and 22.04 for long time. I still use it, to have a duplicate backup.

On this instance I have configured "Contacts Database (PalmOS > 5.2)" for addresses. When I switch to "Address Database (PalmOS < 5.2.1)", then I have the Umlaute encoding issue in field labels too: JPilot 1 8 2 german Umlaute with Addresse Database

With 2.0.1 on Ubuntu 22.04, I have configured "Address Database (PalmOS < 5.2.1)" and the german Umlaute in the Address pane are OK, the buttons are in German, but the menus are in English. When I switch to "Contacts Database (PalmOS > 5.2)", the field labels are in English (e.g. "Work" instead "Büro"), so german Umlaute don't apply, but the buttons remain in correct German. Additionally I observe: When I switch to "Contacts Database (PalmOS > 5.2)" with 2.0.1 I see no data from Addresses, but with 1.8.2 I see all address data with both settings. So is there a document which explains the details of those different settings?

I'm using a Palm Treo 650 with Software: Treo650-1.20, Firmware: 01.71, Hardware: A and PalmOS Garnet v.5.4.8, Kontakte: v.1.2.3, Adressen; v.4.5.1.1P
