The American Medical Association (AMA) has adopted a resolution calling on hospitals to serve plant-based meals. The quote below, presumably from the resolution, is easy to find, as numerous articles have used it. None of the articles I looked at pointed to the original source.
I need an original source for the quote—preferably a link to the resolution itself on an AMA site.
If the resolution is buried behind a membership barrier, then finding this quote on a public AMA web page, referring to the resolution, would be the second best choice.
If that cannot be found, find the most credible source you can that repeats the quote.
“RESOLVED, That our American Medical Association hereby call on US hospitals to improve the health of patients, staff, and visitors by (1) providing a variety of healthful food, including plant-based meals and meals that are low in fat, sodium, and added sugars, (2) eliminating processed meats from menus, and (3) providing and promoting healthful beverages.”
